Me: A part...so the people who take it as the literal truth are wrong?

Me: So what about all the great civilizations before Christianity. The concept of law, and medicine, and philosophy, AND morality all came about in civilizations before Christianity was even around!

Me: So what are we arguing about?
God: I’m not arguing. People believe different things, what do you want me to do about it?
Me: But you know everything. What’s right?
God: Right and wrong are moot points. Even if I told you what was right, the simple fact is not everyone would believe it. That's what you have to understand, it is hard-wired into the human brain to disagree with each other, it is the only way you can survive as a species. So right and wrong are truly irrelevant, what's important is figuring out how to get people who believe different things, to live together. Look at you, you’re sitting here talking to God and you question virtually everything I say.
Me: *sigh* No right, no wrong, everything relative. You make life out to be one big morass. What’s the point of even being alive.
God: You know, those are just words. You say that but what you say and what you live are two very different things. Judge a person by what they live not by what they say.

God: What if all the answers to life are sitting right in front of you? But what you "want to hear" means you can never see the truth? And don't forget that truth is relative. One person's truth is another person's lie.

God: In India there's a little girl who has a cup just like this to hold her treasures: a marble, a piece of broken glass, some pretty stones. To her this cup is a treasure chest. Is it? What's the truth?
Me: Well, I guess the person who made it would call it a cup, so it's a cup being used as a treasure chest.
God: And what if the maker called it a treasure chest and that's what you've been drinking out of all these years. Who defines things, the maker, the user? Is a name important? Maybe it's just some clay someone fashioned into this shape and people use it for many things? And so the bible is used as people will use it. To some it's the "truth" to others it's a fairy tale. It is not my place or yours to tell them how to use it.
Me: So the truth doesn’t matter?
God: I feel like I'm repeating myself here. You must live with a hundred different “truths” to face the many different problems this universe wll throw at you. It’s why everyone shouldn’t become a doctor, because you need farmers too. And a farmer and a doctor may believe totally different things and that’s why they chose the profession they did, but you need that. If you want to survive you better hope people don’t all start believing the same thing!
Me: But the problem is, I don’t want to live in the world some people would have me live in.
God: Good for you.
Me: So what am I supposed to do?
God: You fight for the world you want to live in. If you don’t fight for it, the people who are fighting for theirs will take over.
Me: But then everyone will believe the same thing and that nation will fall, right?
God: Exactly, it’s guaranteed.
Me: That sounds like a truth.
God: I don't know, is it?
Me: Well, let me ask you this then. What about animals. Species, they all act the same way don’t they, so why are they still around?
God: Ever here of extinction? You have such a tiny, miniscule perspective on life. Countless species have gone extinct because they couldn’t adapt. That is what makes man special, your very differences will help you survive, where other species will die. Humanity is the universe’s new way to exist, you change everything.
